2013 Mercedes S-Class

With falling sales and stiff competition from the BMW 7-Series and the Audi A8, Mercedes is looking to revamp its S-Class line for 2013. Recent spy shots have revealed a sightly longer model with the hood and the wheelbase getting additional length. All new LED daytime running lights and indicators have also been spotted and appear at the top of the headlights as opposed to the side. Expect the new S-Class to get styling cues from the 2010 Mercedes F800 Style Concept which would mean sharper lines and possibly, a new front radiator grille.

As far as power is concerned, expect modified versions of the Mercedes’ current lineup; a twin turbo 46L V8 producing 429 HP, a twin turbo 5.5L V12 delivering 510 HP, and an AMG twin turbo 5.5L V8 getting between 536 HP and 550 HP. Mercedes’ Head of Research and Development, Dr. Thomas Weber, has previously revealed that the new S-Class will also feature a plug-in variant modeled after the 2010 Vision S500 Plug-In Hybrid Concept. This would mean that the new hybrid would be powered by a powerful direct injected V6 engine and a 60 HP electric hybrid module run on a next generation lithium ion battery pack. The Vision S500 was able to translate this setup into a 0 to 60 MPH sprint time of 5.5 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 MPH, all while achieving 74 mpg!

Hero Honda is now Hero MotoCorp

Finally July 29, 2011 marked the beginning of a new era in the world of motorcycles in India when the legendary Hero Honda get itself acquainted itself with new identity as Hero MotoCorp after getting final approval from Registrar of Companies to change its name. Since the termination of joint venture between Hero Group and Honda group both the companies were in process of establishing their independent flagships. Launched almost 25 years back under the joint venture Hero Honda Bikes brought a new revolution in the Indian bike market by breaking the dominance of erstwhile bikes like Yezdi and Rajdoot and dominated the Indian market successfully for a long period.

Though the joint venture between both the groups was supposed to get mature in 2014 but due to some internal conflicts between the groups arising as the result of Honda group trying to establish its independent identity in Indian market, both the groups decided to terminate contract before the maturity period by Hero group taking over the 26% of Honda’s stake in joint venture. As the part of joint venture Hera groups was technically dependent on Honda group but now after the separation both the companies will now be contender to each other standing on the same floor.

Taking a step ahead of establishing its own identity Hero group has already hired the services of famous brand innovating specialist Wolff Olnis, to design the new logo of the company and also to work on its visibility on products. There are rumours that Hero group is planning to launch its new brand in London on August 9, 2011.

Overwhelmed with revitalizing progress Mr. Pawan Munjal, Managing Director and CEO Hero Group said that getting the new name for group is the first step towards establishing company’s dominance in two wheeler industry. He further added that it will mark the start of new period in terms of innovations in technology, product development and customer satisfaction. It will help company to expand its boundaries to global market.

New Yamaha R15 coming on Sep 6

Craze for Yamaha bikes can be best witnessed at a time when any new variant from Yamaha Bikes is expected to make its debut in the market. Expected to make its debut in the Indian two wheeler market on September 6, 2011, the New Yamaha R15 2.0 or the modified edition of existing New Yamaha YZF R15 has already made Yamaha aspirants crazy. Since the time of its launch announcement, the crowd has approached the Yamaha dealers to know about its features and specifications. There are also rumors that some Yamaha dealers have even started the booking for new Yamaha R15 at the payment of INR 1000/-. The existing Yamaha R15 or Yamaha YZF R15 price in is Rs 97425.

On the other hand there are some dealers who are still waiting for the official announcement of starting the bookings for New Yamaha R15 by Yamaha Motor India. However whatever the situation is the truth is that the proposed buyers of New Yamaha R15 won’t worry even if the amount they are paying for booking new Yamaha R15 is unofficial. The New Yamaha R15 is considered as the modified version of existing New Yamaha YZF R15. The major changes introduced in Yamaha R15 include the change in swing arm and the chassis which is visible at the rear. The thing which remains unchanged in New Yamaha R15 as compared to New Yamaha YZF R15 is the twin headlamps which is same as in the erstwhile model. Whereas the raised rear end with splitted seat makes the New Yamaha R15 a more stylish motorcycle.

Though from the beginning Yamaha R15 is always been considered as the baggage filled with unmatched features and now when New Yamaha R15 is expected as the modified version the expectations are obviously high. Moreover when it is already rumoured that it is designed more sportier and is made more powerful to deliver powerful performance it can be speculated that the New Yamaha R15 will set new standards in the Indian bike market. At present we just hope and wish that Yamaha Motors price will be affordable and more or less same as the existing Yamaha R15.

Finally Prabhas Rejected Nithya Menon

Prabhas Reacted Finally :

Now, Prabhas, who came to know about it from the media, has politely sent the DVDs of his movies to Nithya Menon in a neatly packed-box. The Chatrapathi star has reportedly written a note for her to give feedback to him after watching the films.

Young rebel star Prabhas has rejected to share screen space with Nithya Menon and that's the reason why Nitya Menon said, “Who is Prabhas”? Now this is really getting interesting and so let's catchup more on this! Some time back Prabhas was trying to find out a good heroine for Rebel movie and the name of Nithya Menon came for discussion but Prabhas rejected her because she is too short and their combination looks odd and therefore he selected Deeksha Seth instead of Nithya Menon. Cut to Nithya Menon and you guys know what she said about Prabhas. Sources say that Nithya Meon was very angry on Prabhas for rejecting her and to take revenge on him, she uttered those comments the other day.

Prabhas is currently busy shooting for 'Rebel' Telugu movie. In fact, Rebel movie fresh schedule of shooting commenced on June 27. Anushka and Deeksha Seth are being paired up in this movie, directed by Raghava Lawrence and produced by J Bhagwan and J Pulla Rao. Even Rebel movie business started off with a bang as Kadapa district rights for this movie were bagged by Kodur Madhu for 90 lakhs. The shooting would be done by October and Prabhas Rebel release is scheduled for December.

Strauss salutes Indian maestro Tendulkar

England Test captain Andrew Strauss has saluted India icon Sachin Tendulkar as the legendary batsman prepares to chase his 100th international hundred in the forthcoming series between the sides.

Tendulkar has notched 51 Test and 48 one-day centuries and Strauss believes there are few signs of the 38-year-old Indian's powers diminishing.

Strauss will get a look at Tendulkar's current form over the next few days as the Middlesex batsman is on a loan spell with Somerset -- in a bid to end his run of low scores -- and will play in their match against the tourists at Taunton.

"It goes without saying that it is a phenomenal achievement, not just the fact he scored those runs, but his desire and motivation to play that long and keep chasing down those records," Strauss said.

"He seems to be playing as well as ever at the moment. It is a great example for us all that if you are still hungry, there is no reason why your powers should decline as you get older.

"He has been one of the great players over the last 20 years and I'm sure he will want to have a big series.

"Technically he is fantastic, his mental strength to bat under that amount of pressure for all that time is fantastic.

"He is a very dignified and humble man as well. If there are good examples out there, he is probably the best of them."

However, Strauss is hoping England paceman Chris Tremlett can make life uncomfortable for Tendulkar and his team-mates in the first Test at Lord's next week.

"Are India susceptible to short deliveries? I think all the sub-continent sides have got better at that in recent years," Strauss said.

"It comes as a result of touring here quite often. Certainly their senior players are no strangers to these shores.

"We are not expecting any dramatic weaknesses there but we know someone like Chris Tremlett performed very well against them last time around here.

"He was a lot younger and probably less developed as a bowler then.

"I think we saw against Australia and Sri Lanka, that type of bowling, if done consistently and accurately, will trouble most people."

Beware of Tendulkar, say ex-England captains

By Mail Today Correspondent in New Delhi

Sachin Tendulkar has been in scintillating form for the past few seasons and even after 22 years on the road in international cricket, former England captains Michael Vaughan, Nasser Hussain, Mike Atherton and Graham Gooch feel the talismanic batsman will pose the biggest threat to the Englishmen in the much anticipated Test series that begins next week at Lord's.

"Sachin's a different player now from 2007; the best players in the world change little things about themselves to keep themselves in the game."

"In the last two years he's become more aggressive, he's gone back to his old way of trying to score when for a period he tried to survive," Vaughan told The Cricketer magazine.

"Chris Tremlett bowled well against him in 2007 and he's a miles better bowler now. But Sachin doesn't have any weaknesses although every batsman is vulnerable on and around the off stump early on. England might go aggressive at him, test him with a few short balls, I've seen people do that over the last two years and it hasn't affected him," Vaughan added."

Hussain, on his part, felt that Tendulkar has managed to rediscover his aggressive instincts, even after two decades of international cricket.

"Technically and mentally Sachin has changed little over the years but he has changed his game plan."

"He began as a flamboyant, extravagant stroke- maker who had all the shots and simply loved the game. Once the records and the hundreds started to be racked up, he turned into a run- machine."

"The Indian public became driven by his stats and consumed by a Sachin infatuation."

"His priority was his wicket. Once Sehwag arrived, he was happy to let him tee off."

"In the last couple of years he has rediscovered his flamboyance and is playing shots again," Hussain said.

Another England captain and astute batsman, Atherton, recounted how dropping Tendulkar proved to be an expensive and unforgettable experience.

"I dropped him in the gully at Trent Bridge (in 1996) and he went on to get a big hundred."

"He's not a man you want to put down early on. He was calm at the crease, difficult to get out of his bubble."

"There weren't any flaws. He was just a very solid, orthodox player."

"One of the most remarkable things is that he has hardly changed at all, exactly the same set- up, very few changes to his method. He's trusted in his technique and power all this time." "He's stayed true to his game."

Gooch, who saw the Mumbai batsman blossom as a youngster, said: "No one had ever seen him in 1990. As a 17-year-old it was evident that the lad had great skill, great balance, great timing, an eye for the ball."

"You could see he had all the attributes to make a top player."

For one so young he had a poise and composure about his batting."

"You don't often get that in young players; you get the talent and the stroke-making but poise, authority and composure normally come."

Tendulkar warning for England

Former England skippers have singled out Sachin Tendulkar as the biggest threat for Andrew Strauss' team ahead of India's tour later this month.

Sachin Tendulkar has been visiting England since 1990 and has scored 1302 runs in 13 Tests at an impressive average of 62 with four hundreds and six half-centuries.

"Sachin's a different player now from 2007; the best players in the world change little things about themselves to keep themselves in the game. In the last two years, he's become more aggressive, he's gone back to his old way of trying to score when for a period he tried to survive," The Cricketer quoted Michael Vaughan as saying.

Google+ First Look

Google Plus (aka Google+), Google's new social network, might offer the right mix of sharing and privacy to woo you away from your Facebook account. If you don't know how to use it, though, it's just a confusing mess of circles and contacts. So we've assembled a few tips to help you get started. (If you aren't on Google Plus yet, try our Google Plus invite trick.)

Tweak your email notification options. By default, Google Plus will spam your Gmail account with notifications for practically anything involving your new account. You can go to the Google Account options to uncheck all of the ones you don't want to get, thereby reducing your Gmail traffic considerably.

Change your profile's field-sharing settings. Your Google Account has certain basic fields that it can share with anyone--but you don't have to go along with maximum sharing. Open your Google Account Profile and privacy settings, click Edit visibility on profile, and then click the individual profile fields and determine how public you want to make them.

Disable resharing. Google Plus may make it easy for you to segregate who you share your information with, but your connections have no such limitations, meaning that something you share with a select few can still spread like wildfire across your networks. Nevertheless, you can disable resharing of a certain post after posting it: Just click the arrow in the upper-right-hand corner of the post and then click Disable resharing.

Check your Incoming feed. Unlike Facebook, Google Plus lets people share things with you even if you're not following them. Consequently you'll want to check your Incoming feed now and then to see whether you're missing out on anything interesting from someone you don't follow. Think of it as a spam folder that occasionally contains something interesting.

Use the Your Circles option while sharing. Google Plus's Circles system is great for letting you use your Plus account to set barriers between the various groups of people you want to share things with. If most of what you share on Google Plus isn't especially privacy-sensitive, however, use the Your Circles sharing option to automatically share items with all of your circles and avoid the trouble of clicking each individual circle.

Start some Sparks. In addition to following people, you can search for interesting stuff to share about particular topics in the Sparks section on the side menu of the main page. Click Sparks, and search for things that you're interested in or browse through the featured topics; if you want to pin a search on your sidebar for easy future access, click the Add Interest button under the search field.

Click through profile pictures. You can easily cycle through other people's profile pics by clicking on them.

Add some basic formatting. As with Google Talk and Google Buzz, you can add basic text styles to some of your Google Plus text. Paired asterisks (*text*) make bold text, paired underscores (_text_) make italics, and paired dashes (-text-) make strikethroughs.

Virat Kohli set to miss Test spot for England tour

Sehwag is not ruled out yet. He may be added as the 17th member and is expected to be 100 per cent fit after the first Test at Lord's (July 21-25).
It can be recalled that Sehwag did not get picked for the 2007 tour of England.

It is learnt that Parthiv Patel will be included in the squad as the second wicketkeeper and an opening batsman option. Yuvraj Singh will return to the Test team after a wondrous performance in the World Cup. Yuvraj, like Sehwag, Gambhir and Sachin Tendulkar is not with his mates in the West Indies.

Skipper Dhoni is expected to support the selection of left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, but leg-spinner Amit Mishra may end up getting the nod.

The likely squad:
MS Dhoni (captain), Gautam Gambhir, Murali Vijay, Parthiv Patel, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Zaheer Khan, S Sreesanth, Munaf Patel and Praveen Kumar.Gautam Gambhir is all set to return to India ranks after a shoulder injury kept him out of the ongoing tour of the West Indies. Gambhir's injury intensified in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League.

However, his opening partner Virender Sehwag may not be among the names to be announced for this month's four-Test series in England. The selectors will meet in Chennai tomorrow to pick the squad. Virat Kohli is all set to miss the Test boat.
